The play of George Orwell’s

Animal Farm

adapted by Peter Hall
lyrics by Adrian Mitchell
music by Richard Peaslee
Directed by Ellen Geer

June 17th ~ October 1st

George Orwell once stated, “Every line I write has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism, as I understand it.” This musical adaptation by Peter Hall is told by a young child, who engages us in a world of talking animals who reject their cruel human master and work to create a world of equality. As the story unfolds we become aware and wary of the all too familiar rhetoric of political and social forces in its disturbing reflection of our world today.
