Young People’s Camp
Nine sessions specially designed to introduce young children to the imaginative world of Shakespeare and classical theatre.
Experienced teaching artists and caring group leaders engage your little one in Commedia dell’Arte, Theatre Games, Stage Combat, Music, Puppetry, Elizabethan Dance, and more! They learn to play as a team while developing their individual creative thinking. Their final performance will have you smiling for days!

Youth Drama Camp: Shakespeare
Experience the magic of Youth Drama Camp!
Children collaborate, create, and build confidence in a nurturing, child-centered environment. Our expert teaching artists and caring group leaders engage your child in Fencing, Stage Combat, Improvisation, Voice/Speech, Elizabethan Song and Dance, and more! Culminating in a performance of a Shakespeare play. An exuberant celebration of all that they have learned!

Youth Drama Saturdays: Improvisation
Improvisation is the ultimate confidence builder!
Our experienced teaching artists engage your child in theatre games that hone their ability to collaborate and think creatively. Each student is also coached in an edited Shakespeare monologue, hand-picked for them. The final performance is a celebration of ensemble and Shakespeare.

Youth Drama Saturdays: Playwriting & Performing
Students collaborate to create their own play!
An expert teaching artist lead youth through improvisation, theatre games, and creative writing exercises. Students craft, rehearse, and perform their own original work. Students also work together to investigate and perform a Shakespeare soliloquy. Both are shared at a culminating performance on the last day of class.

Youth Drama Saturdays: Combat Intensive
Does your student love to duel? Then this class is the place to be!
Children learn the secrets behind fencing, combat, and stage falls that keep performers safe and audiences amazed. Choreographed fights from Shakespeare plays are performed at the final class.

Youth Drama Camp: Americana Music
Sing, dance and tell stories during this celebration of American Folk music.
Children learn the songs of legends like Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, as well as the historical events that inspired them! Experienced teaching artists engage your child in all the elements of performing these great folk songs as they discover the strength of working in a creative ensemble. Sing along with your children during their moving final performance and discover, through music, the journey America has taken to become mindful, kind, and inclusive.

Teen Shakespeare Workshop
Spend 3 weeks at Theatricum exploring Shakespeare and classical performances.

Adult Summer Shakespeare Intensive
Participants in Theatricum’s Shakespeare Intensive are actors, teachers & lovers of Shakespeare who leave this invigorating program inspired, confident and rededicated.
Immerse yourself in the study of classical theatre, language and performance technique.
For four weeks this summer an intimate group of individuals (14-18 students) will be led by experts in the study of: Voice & Speech (Linklater, Fitzmaurice, Rodenberg, etc.), Alexander Movement (Laban, Viewpoints, Period, etc.), Fencing, Stage Combat, Scansion, Text, Rhetoric , Elizabethan Life/History/Music/Dance.
The techniques are applied to scenes and monologues hand-picked for you by Artistic Director, Ellen Geer and directed by leading company artists. Scenes and monologues will be presented at a culmination for your invited guests.
Theatricum’s Shakespeare Intensives are open to dedicated beginners and professionals. They demand commitment, curiosity, stamina, and courage. In return, they will open your heart and begin (or rekindle) what may be the greatest love affair of your life – with Shakespeare, his beautiful characters, and his exquisite language.

This Retreat is the perfect activity for actors, non-actors and all lovers of Shakespeare who are seeking a compact, but very enriching and immersive Shakespeare experience.

Weekend Shakespeare Retreat offers content similar to our very popular Summer Shakespeare Intensive, but conducted in one weekend! This Retreat is the perfect activity for actors, non-actors and all lovers of Shakespeare who are seeking a compact, but very enriching and immersive Shakespeare experience.
Workshops will unlock Shakespeare’s language through Scansion, Text and Rhetoric; open your breath and body with Voice, Speech, and Movement; and celebrate the arts with Dance, Performance, and Fencing. Our artistic Director, Ellen Geer, will hand pick a monologue or sonnet for you to use as you explore and engage.
Make a vacation out of it! Spend the weekend in beautiful Topanga Canyon, an oasis nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains. Breathe deeply under our canopy of California Live Oaks as you immerse yourself in Shakespeare’s exquisite language and characters. Stay at one of Topanga’s Award Winning B&B’s; explore the cuisine, discover local shops, and bike or hike trails to beautiful vistas in this very special community. Fall Scene Study with Melora Marshall
Develop your Shakespearean characters and learn how the language can roll trippingly off your tongue!
Melora Marshall works with students to develop a true sense of themselves as actors. Scenes and monologues of Shakespeare become conduits for self-expression, students build upon solid techniques, interpreting his characters and working a full spectrum of materials as they grow in confidence and experience.
