Box Office Manager

Part Time/Hourly

Rate: $14-16/hr (determined by experience of applicant)

Reports to: Julie Anderson, Director of Finance

Will Geer’s Theatricum Botanicum is hiring a part-time Box Office Manager to manage all ticket sales for the theatre’s Repertory and Special Performances.

Box Office Manager will be supervised by Theatricum’s Director of Finance and will work on site, in the Box Office, at Theatricum’s office/theatre in Topanga Canyon. Box Office Manager (and/or support staff as arranged) must be present for and/or secure staff/volunteers to be present for Tuesday-Sunday box office hours, as well as during all performances of Theatricum’s Repertory and Special Performance series (various dates/times February-November 2017).

The Box Office Manger must be extremely personable, reliable and organized self-starter who is comfortable and excels in: engaging with the public; training and supporting both paid and volunteer staff; working in an outdoor environment during both daylight and evening hours throughout the spring, summer and fall; creating and keeping staff schedules; tracking expense and income in provided excel spreadsheets; collaborating with multiple department heads with the goal of keeping every patron’s experience at Theatricum as positive as possible. Prior knowledge of Patron Services ticketing software is a plus, but we will consider candidates with knowledge/experience in other ticketing software.

SCHEDULE

The current length of this position is from February 21-November 15, 2017.  The position will be elligible for rehire for the 2018.  Exact hours will be set on a weekly basis and will be including both regular office and evening/weekend hours and may range from 0-30+ hours a week at various times during the position, not to exceed  a total yearly allocation of 932 hours.

COMPENSATION

Part time hourly. Rate ($14.00-$16.00) to be determined based on experience of applicant. From February 21 – November 15, 2017 the allotted hours will be 932.

SKILLS REQUIRED

The Box Office Manager must be personable, comfortable speaking to the public, organized and responsible.  Ideally (s)he will have a working knowledge of basic computer software – Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, etc., Point of Sale and Patron Manager.  (S)/he will be entrepreneurial in spirit – self-motivated, a self-starter and dedicated with an extremely high work ethic. The BOM must be comfortable working in a rustic outdoor setting during day and evening hours in the late spring, summer and autumn. The individual should possess excellent oral and communication skills, be able to maintain confidentialities and have the ability to multi-task and prioritize conflicting demands.  Follow-through and dedication to completing a task effectively are critical as is the ability to work quickly and efficiently. The ideal candidate should be interested and excited about theatre. Theatricum is a highly communal environment that fosters a great deal of inter-personal interaction. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with this sort of social work environment and will consider it an asset to his/her work ethic.

Candidates must be available for both weekday office and evening/weekend hours and must be able to drive and have access to their own working vehicle with up to date insurance.

Patron Services Manager

Part Time/Hourly

Will Geer’s Theatricum Botanicum is hiring a part-time Patron Services Manager that oversees all Front of House activities and personnel for the theatres Repertory and Special Performances.

Patron Services Manager will be supervised by Theatricum’s Director of Finance and will work primarily on site at Theatricum’s office/theatre in Topanga Canyon. While some administrative hours can be arranged by the Patron Services Manager, the primary responsibility is to be present for and/or oversee staff/volunteers during performances of Theatricum’s Repertory and Special Performance series various dates/times April-November 2017.

The Patron Services Manger must be extremely personable, reliable and organized self-starter who is comfortable and excels in: engaging with the public; training and supporting both paid and volunteer staff; working in an outdoor environment during both daylight and evening hours throughout the spring, summer and fall; creating and keeping staff schedules; tracking expense and income in provided excel spreadsheets; collaborating with multiple department heads with the goal of keeping every patron’s experience at Theatricum as positive as possible.
