Adventure in Speaking with Milan Dragicevich

Adventure in Speaking with Milan Dragicevich

July 14th and July 16th 2026
5pm - 8pm

$150

Explore the bold universe of “high-octane text” in any style or century, from Shakespeare to Spoken Word, from Congreve to Stoppard.

Actors learn to recognize and unleash the supercharged rhetorical tools—forgotten secrets from long ago—to detonate heightened dialogue in both classical and contemporary plays.

This workshop seeks to awaken the actor’s relationship to language by reconnecting the performer to the magical and persuasive origins of words—and the ways they illuminate character and spark imaginative choices. We welcome adventurous performers who are willing to challenge conventional expectations and explore brave new worlds.

About the Professor:

Milan has performed with nationally recognized regional theaters across the country, including the Tony Award-winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Hartford Stage, Pasadena Playhouse, and Will Geer’s Theatricum Botanicum, where he earned a Los Angeles Dramalogue Critics Award for his portrayal of Richard III.

He is the author of a bold new book,
The Persuasive Actor: Rhetorical Power on the Contemporary Stage, a vigorous exploration of how classical rhetorical techniques can empower today’s performer in speaking verbally adventurous texts, from Shakespeare to Slam Poetry. A professor of performance at the University of Massachusetts, Milan was recognized with the UMass Outstanding Teaching Award in 2021
