JOB OVERVIEW

Theatricum’s School Programs Manager will oversee and execute Theatricum’s School Days on-site field trip and in-school Classroom Enrichment programs. School Programs Manager will work with the Producing Artistic Director and staff to support provide a world-class arts education experience for students throughout the greater Los Angeles Area.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of Common Core and major pedagogical trends utilized in school districts in Los Angeles and the surrounding counties and have experience working with diverse learning environments from private to parochial to home to public schools. School Programs participants include a panoply of learners including neuro-typical, special needs, and gifted students. Students come from the most diverse backgrounds and various socio-economic experiences. Our School Programs Manager should celebrate the opportunity to engage with all of these communities. Applicants should be comfortable in a large, outdoor environment where children and pets are often integrated into the work environment. Applicant must be able to reliably work on-site in Topanga during School Days performances, as well as be able to travel to schools throughout the area and have flexibility to work outside of a typical workweek schedule.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Manage all Field Trip Days and Classroom Enrichment engagements

  • Oversee School Days program on-site during field trip days
  • Available to supervise larger on-site Classroom Enrichment bookings
  • Book clients, track invoices, and record payments for clients for all School Programs
  • Work with Producing Artistic Director/Associate Producing Artistic Director to staff and prepare Classroom Enrichment engagements including assemblies, workshops, and residencies.
  • Manage program prop/costume maintenance throughout the year.
  • Maintain Zoom or other distance learning platforms.
  • Create and/or adjust existing curriculum and/or study guides to accompany all School Programs.
  • Organize and run Professional Development opportunities,.

Sales and Marketing

  • Generate new potential clients through in-person, virtual, and word of mouth contacts.
  • Work with administration to ensure that program information on Theatricum’s website, in Theatricum’s School Programs brochure, and in other printed material is correct and accurately reflects the available School Programs.
  • Work with staff to maintain and expand the database on Arts People

Logistics Management /Personnel Management

  • Hire and train teaching artists for all School Programs.
  • Schedule all facets of the program for staff and clients.
  • Process and submit payroll for programs.
  • Schedule training/sample classes for new artist-educators.

Budget/Funding

  • Work with Grants Manager to provide program-related data and information as requested.
  • Work with Grants Manager and Managing Director ensure grant requirements are met for programs.
  • Ability to create, actualize, and reconcile budgets.
  • Generate reports as needed.

Qualifications:

    • Excellent interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both orally and in writing.
    • Adept at handling sensitive and confidential situations.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Some flexibility in schedule for occasional event s that fall outside of regular business hours.
    • Familiarity with Word, Excel; Google docs, and comfortable with learning database software.
    • Training, education, and/or experience in lesson planning, curriculum creation, teaching, and teacher training

JOB OVERVIEW

The Academy Manager oversees the execution of Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum’s private classes for all ages offered through its renowned Academy of the Classics. The Academy Manager will work with the Producing Artistic Director, Academy Program Managers, and support staff and oversee all aspects of existing private classes for Adults, Teens, Youth, and Young Children. In addition, the Academy Manager will work with staff to curate new classes to meet the changing needs of students of all ages while serving the Academy’s mission of helping participants of all backgrounds develop and celebrate their love of language, theatre, history, music, and the arts.

The ideal candidate has experience managing programs, including scheduling, budgeting, and marketing, as well as very strong people skills. Applicants should be comfortable in a large, outdoor environment where children and pets are often integrated into the work environment. Applicant must be able to reliably work on-site in Topanga during camps sessions and classes, as well as elsewhere for seasonal classes held off-site, and have flexibility to work outside the 9-5 workweek.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

 Sales and Marketing

  • Generate new potential clients through in-person, online, word of mouth, print, and other platforms.
  • Oversee Academy information on Theatricum’s website, in both the Adult and Youth/Teen Academy brochures, and in other printed material.

Administration

  • Database management.
  • Work with staff to schedule year-long calendar of classes offered through the Academy integrating class schedules with schedules of other existing programs at Theatricum’s busy property and off-site.
  • Work with Program Managers to hire and contract Academy teachers for all age groups.
  • Provide support for each class as needed.
  • Work closely with the Administrative Assistant to track student payments.
  • Prepare and oversee payroll for all staff in Education Programs.
  • Manage Zoom or other distance learning platforms
  • Handle Program Management for the Teen age-group including booking and in-person management of those classes.

Budget/Funding

  • Work with Grants Manager and Managing Director ensure grant requirements are met for programs.
  • Create, actualize, and reconcile budgets.
  • Participate in preparing yearly budget and make data-based recommendations
  • Generate reports as needed.
