DESCRIPTION
The Arts Education Intern will spend the summer of 2024 at Theatricum Botanicum learning from seasoned professionals and acquiring real-life experience in arts education. The Arts Education Intern will join us in conducting the Young People’s Camp (ages 4-7), the Youth Drama Camp (ages 8-13), the Teen Shakespeare Intensive (ages 14-18), the School Days Field Trip program, and the Summer Adult Shakespeare Intensive. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and participate in the pedagogical and business aspects of arts education at a nonprofit theatre. The Arts Education Internship is a 40 hours a week, 10 week position running from June – August 2024. The weekly schedule will include hours during days, evenings, weekdays, and weekends.
This is a paid internship through the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture Arts Internship Program. The rate is $17.28/hr.
QUALIFICATIONS
We’re seeking students with a passionate interest in arts and education. The ideal candidate is a reliable, responsible self-starter who brings professional conduct to the work environment. This position requires writing and working with quantitative data. Basic computer skills are needed. Please be someone who can focus in an energetic, communal office environment, and who is comfortable working in “the great outdoors” of the Santa Monica Mountains. We ask that the candidate have a vehicle, driver’s license, and up-to-date insurance. Free parking is provided.

The Patron Services Intern will learn from seasoned professionals and acquire real-life work experience in patron services at a nonprofit theatre. The Patron Services Intern will attend every performance, managing the audience experience before, during, and after each show. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and participate in box office, concessions, and front-of-house administration in the busy, magical environment of Theatricum during our repertory season. The Patron Services Internship is a 30 hours a week position running from June – October 2024. The weekly schedule will include hours during days, evenings, weekdays, and weekends.
